　ホワイトオーク3に使用するオークは、ヨーロッパに生育するフレンチオークです。「森の王」と賞されるオークは、高さ25mから30mほどに育つ落葉樹。ルイ14世によって建てられたヴェルサイユ宮殿やノーベル賞の受賞祝賀晩餐会が開催されるストックホルム庁舎など、ヨーロッパの格式高い歴史的な建造物にも数多く使用されてきました。身近なところでは、家具の材料としても人気が高く、またピノ・ノワールなどの高級ワインを熟成させる樽にも古くから使われきた歴史があります。このように古くから愛され続けてきたフレンチオークの無垢材を表層に使った床材は、三層構造を採用することでオーク無垢材では成し得ない板幅を実現。近年においては著名な建築家が手がける国内外のラグジュアリーホテルにも続々と採用されています。

The oak used for White Oak 3 is French oak that grows in Europe. Oak, known as the “King of the Forest,” is a deciduous tree that grows between 25 and 30 meters in height. It has also been used in many prestigious historical buildings in Europe, such as the Palace of Versailles built by Louis XIV and the Stockholm Government Building, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held. More familiar to us, it is popular as a material for furniture, and has a long history of being used in barrels for aging high-quality wines such as Pinot Noir. This flooring material uses solid French oak, which has been loved for a long time, as its surface layer, and by adopting a three-layer structure, it achieves a board width that cannot be achieved with solid oak. In recent years, it has been adopted one after another in luxury hotels in Japan and overseas designed by famous architects.

表層に贅沢な幅の無垢材の挽き板を採用し、中層と下層にはそれぞれゴム材とスプルース材を使うことで、貴重な幅広の表層材の使用量を削減。資源を有効活用しつつ、幅広で迫力があり、無垢と遜色のない美しさを表現することに成功しています。また、中層のゴム材の繊維方向を、表層と下層とたがい違いになるように配置することで、施工後の伸縮が極力抑えられるよう工夫されています。
